Garz & Fricke expands the family of its NALLINO HMIs by two new versions. The 4,3-inch HMI introduced in February 2020, will be supplemented by products with 5-inch and 7-inch displays. With the expansion of this HMI product family, Garz & Fricke can meet the requirements of our customers more precisely. These new displays work with the proven NALLINO board, which is based on a low power processor from NXP. Therefore, the HMIs are highly suitable for use in industrial environments, especially when cost efficiency and low power consumption are required. Both new versions will be available in autumn 2020.
The 5-inch version of the new NALLINO HMI features a TN display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels and brightness of 500 cd/m². The 7-inch IPS display offers a resolution of 1024x600 pixels with the same brightness. IPS technology ensures a stable perspective from all directions. Both displays have a backlight lifetime of 30.000 or 40.000 hours.
Simple integration options
Both versions are rear-mount products that a customer can easily integrate into his environment. The mounting is done from the rear through a rectangular cut-out. The glass is then given a Poron seal, which ensures compliance with all protection classes. The proven family concept by Garz & Fricke allows easy scalability from 4,3 to 7,0 inches. The NALLINO product line is designed as a cost-efficient HMI for professional use and is used in laboratory or medical technology, for example in benchtop centrifuges or measuring instruments. Furthermore, it is used in control cabinets to monitor production processes or in catering equipment.
"Garz & Fricke has 15 years of experience in HMI development and focuses especially on the quality of touch screens", explains Stephan Meyer-Loges, Product Manager Embedded Systems. "We ensure that the solutions operate reliably even under difficult environmental conditions". The robust Projective Capacitive (PCAP) touch screens can be operated with wet fingers or gloves. This allows a high level of flexibility in various application scenarios.
Design efficiency ensures flexibility
All HMI solutions by Garz & Fricke are based on a proven concept and are equipped with selected components that allow individual customization. "Starting from a certain quantity the design efficiency of our products allows us to realize an individual adaptation to the customer's needs, from the mechanics to the design," says Meyer-Loges. "Hardware and electronics, as well as software and firmware, can be designed individually to meet the requirements of the specific application scenarios."
For the NALLINO product family, the Garz & Fricke platform concept offers a variety of interfaces. To meet the most common customer requirements, all product variants are supplied ex works with 100 Mbit Ethernet, up to 2 USB 2.0, RS485, CAN, RS232, GPIO and uSD card.
A minimum of 30.000 hours of backlight lifetime is standard for all Garz & Fricke HMIs. The products of the NALLINO family only differ in their dimensions and resolution. The 7-inch version of the HMI is also an IPS that shows stable colors from all sides. It has a higher resolution compared to the 4,3" and 5" version and also offers a portrait mode.
All products of the NALLINO product family are designed to be easily integrated into the secure Garz & Fricke Cloud environment, which allows customers to network, manage, operate, and exchange data with their own equipment.
